It's been a few years, but thinking about the case of Fritz Severe still raises so many questions about how it was handled. What stands out to me is the impact on those children who witnessed the shooting. They were there for a summer camp—a place meant for fun and learning—when they suddenly experienced something that no child should ever have to see. It’s devastating to consider the trauma they must have faced. I can't help but wonder if there's been any support or follow-up for them. In incidents like this, the ripples of trauma extend so far beyond the immediate victim and family, affecting entire communities. Hoping for better systems in place to protect and support bystanders in such situations, particularly young ones.
