I can't stop thinking about Jefferson's grandmother, Sonia Ferrufino, and the immense sorrow she must be feeling right now. Hearing her talk about Jefferson — how he was such a happy and funny kid — really put a face to the tragedy. It breaks my heart knowing he had been threatened before, and I can't imagine the helplessness she must feel, wishing she could have done something to prevent this.
It's so crucial for the community to rally around Jefferson's family and support them in any way possible. If anyone knows anything about this incident, please, for the peace of mind of his family and to prevent this from happening again, come forward. No family should have to endure this kind of pain, and if we work together, maybe we can make our schools safer and ensure they remain places of learning and growth, not fear. Keeping the Luna-Perez family in my thoughts and hoping for justice for Jefferson.
Hey everyone,
I’ve been following the devastating incident at Roosevelt High, and one thing that really stands out to me is the response from the local community around the school. It’s encouraging to see how neighbors, parents, and even people without direct connections to the school have rallied to support Jefferson Luna-Perez's family and the students affected by this tragedy. Community support can play such a vital role in healing after something so traumatic.
I also read about how Roosevelt High is providing counseling and support for students, which is crucial. It's heartbreaking to think about the impact this will have on Jefferson’s peers and teachers. I hope those who need help will reach out and take advantage of the resources being offered.
Seeing everyone come together does give me hope, but it’s also a stark reminder of how important it is to create safe spaces for our children. My thoughts are with Jefferson’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. If anyone hears about community events or ways to support the family, please share.
Stay safe, everyone.
I can't stop thinking about the impact this incident must be having on the students and staff at Roosevelt High School. Can you imagine returning to classes after something so traumatic happens right on school grounds? It's so important for the school community to come together and support each other during this incredibly tough time.
Principal Wilkerson's letter offering counseling services is a step in the right direction, but I really hope that these services are extensive and ongoing. The effects of such a traumatic event can be long-lasting, especially for kids who might have witnessed or even just heard about the shooting.
Has anyone heard if there are any community efforts or support groups being formed to help students and teachers deal with this? It would be comforting to know there are resources beyond just the immediate aftermath. My heart goes out to everyone affected, especially Jefferson's family and friends. They all deserve to find some peace and healing.
