I just can't stop thinking about how Bernard "BJ" Hodges was such a cornerstone in his neighborhood. It's rare to find someone who genuinely cares about their community as much as he did. From hosting those cookouts to guiding young folks towards better job opportunities, BJ demonstrated a level of selflessness that's hard to come by. I mean, many of us talk about making a difference, but BJ was actually doing it every single day. It's gut-wrenching to think about how he expressed concern over the rising violence, only to become a victim of it himself. It just feels like such a senseless loss, not only for his family but for everyone he helped and inspired. I genuinely hope that the police can bring some closure to BJ's loved ones and our community by catching those responsible. It's up to all of us now to carry forward his mission for peace and growth in our neighborhood. Please, if anyone knows anything, come forward. We owe it to BJ and his family to see justice served.
