I can't stop thinking about how close this happened to so many people's homes, including mine. It's terrifying to consider how dangerous this world can be, even in the heart of our communities where we should feel safe. I didn't know Rasheem personally, but my heart truly goes out to his family and friends. Can you even imagine the pain they're experiencing right now? It's just senseless.
What strikes me is the time of day this happened, around 4:22 pm. So many people could have been around—kids just getting home from school, people returning from work. It seems like such a high-risk time for something like this to go down. I'm hopeful that someone who was in the area might have seen something useful, even if it seems small.
