I just wanted to take a moment and reflect on the impact this must be having on Ruben's family, especially his wife and young kids. I can't imagine the devastating hole his absence will leave in their daily lives. What really gets me is that he was not only working hard to take care of his own children but also supporting his elderly parents back in Venezuela. The responsibility he carried must have been immense. The fact that his journey ended this way is just so terribly unfair. It also makes me think about how the ripple effects of such violence extend far beyond the immediate loss—it touches lives across borders.
