I can't stop thinking about Rachel and Arturo, the two kids who found their mom and her boyfriend after coming home from school. I can't even begin to imagine the trauma they must be experiencing. They must have been so excited just a few hours earlier, like any other normal day, completely unaware of the nightmare awaiting them. It breaks my heart to think of what they're going through now. I've seen that their family has started a GoFundMe to help with Akemy's funeral costs and to support the kids. It seems like they're trying their best to help these kids somehow move forward after such a life-shattering event. The community's response has been supportive, and I really hope it lifts some burden off their shoulders, no child should have to grapple with this kind of loss. I'm keeping them in my thoughts, and I hope they get all the support they need during this unimaginably difficult time. If anyone here can, please spread the word about their campaign or consider contributing.

I’ve been following the case of Akemy Fontane Cuza and Omar Miranda Quiñónez, and one aspect that’s really stuck with me is the impact on Akemy’s kids, Rachel and Arturo. Finding their mom and her boyfriend like that is beyond traumatic—it’s life-altering. My heart truly goes out to them; I can’t imagine the pain and confusion they must be experiencing. It's a stark reminder of how deeply ripple effects from such tragedies are felt. It’s somewhat comforting to know that the community has rallied around Rachel and Arturo, especially with the GoFundMe campaign. Financial support is crucial, but I hope they’re also getting the emotional support they need. It sounds like Akemy was a loving mother, and it’s important that they have a network of people helping them navigate this overwhelming time. Also, seeing Akemy honored on the National Gun Violence Memorial makes me think about how gun violence continues to devastate families far and wide. It’s something that requires more attention, and hopefully, memorials like these can help enact change. Keeping Akemy and her kids in my thoughts tonight.
