Hey everyone,
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the October 18th shooting in Jacksonville. I came across the profiles for Thomas Harris and Charles A. Watkins on the National Gun Violence Memorial website, and it really brought home the real, human side to these tragedies. These profiles are a space where people have been sharing stories, and it's clear that both Thomas and Charles were surrounded by a community that really cared for them.
What struck me was seeing the outpouring of love and memories from people who knew them. It's easy to get lost in the statistics, but these were real people with families, friends, and futures. If you knew them, consider sharing something on their pages. It's heartening to see how the community is coming together to remember them and support one another through this. And if anyone else has noticed, these incidents are too frequent. How can we, as a community, push for changes to prevent these senseless losses? Let's keep the conversation going and find ways to hopefully make a difference, however small it might seem. Sending love to everyone affected by this. ✨

It's so moving to see the outpouring of love and memories from people who knew them, as it really honors their lives beyond just the tragic way they were taken. Does anyone else find these memorials helpful in providing some solace to the families and friends left behind? I can't imagine how hard it must be to navigate through this pain, but seeing their loved ones share stories and light candles must feel like a much-needed community hug. What are your thoughts on these virtual spaces? Do they make you feel more connected to the victim's stories?

I recently stumbled across the profiles for Thomas Harris and Charles A. Watkins on the National Gun Violence Memorial site, and it really made me reflect on how important it is to keep their stories alive. I read through some of the beautiful messages left by their loved ones, and it was clear how cherished they both were. Lighting a virtual candle is such a touching way for people who knew them to express their grief and share treasured memories. It's profoundly upsetting how these tragedies continue to cut short the lives of amazing individuals who had so much more to offer the world. My thoughts are with their families and everyone hurting from this senseless act. Let's not forget them and keep pushing for change so such tragedies can become a thing of the past.
