I was reading through some articles on the shocking murder of Christian Colon, and I keep thinking about how this has impacted those who lived nearby. I mean, it's a neighborhood that's known for being peaceful and family-oriented. The fact that this tragedy unfolded in broad daylight on a holiday weekend is just so surreal. I can't imagine how unsettling it must be for the residents. Someone from the area described it as "Miami Vice-type" violence, and it's sad to think people now have to carry that fear with them in a place they once felt completely safe. Let's hope the investigation gives them some answers and a sense of security. My heart goes out to Christian Colon's family and friends during this unbelievably difficult time. It's just such a heavy loss and adds an entirely new layer to the pain these sudden, violent occurrences bring.
