I've been thinking a lot about how terrifying it must have been for Michael Gaines that day. Just sitting there in front of Shorty's Deli, in what should've been a normal moment, and then everything changed in an instant. I can't imagine the shock and fear he must have felt in those final moments. The footage is chilling and my heart goes out to his family, who must be struggling to process not only his absence but the brutal way he was taken from them. I hope they find some sense of comfort and strength from the community as they navigate through this unimaginable loss. It's sad to think that Michael was a part of the community fabric in Bridgeport, and now there's a void that can't be filled.
