I’ve been following the tragic situation in Hartford with a heavy heart, and the loss of Hakeem Dickson feels especially impactful. The use of a "glock switch" in converting firearms to fully automatic weapons is a terrifying development. It’s deeply concerning that such modifications are becoming more accessible and are being used in yet another ambush-style attack. The fact that three shooters were coordinated enough to execute such a plan in broad daylight is chilling. I can’t help but feel for the families involved. Losing someone to such senseless violence is unimaginable, and the fear it must inspire in the community is enormous. This cycle of violence and the apparent availability of illegal weapon modifications is a problem that needs urgent addressing. My thoughts are with everyone in Hartford as they grapple with these events. How are they supposed to heal or feel safe when their community is being impacted so dramatically by ongoing violence? It's a haunting question that doesn’t seem to have an easy answer.
