Hey everyone, I've been reading through Selina Violet Wallace's case, and something that really stands out to me is the response from the RCMP. It's deeply frustrating but, unfortunately, not surprising to see this pattern of dismissiveness when it comes to Indigenous women going missing. I'm curious if anyone knows more about the RCMP's policies during that time or if there were specific protocols in place for missing persons cases in 1971, especially in regions like Quadra Island? I've seen other cases where assumptions were made too quickly that young adults had just left home voluntarily, and I've been wondering if this was a common excuse used back then. Any insights or similar cases anyone knows of? It's so important we keep discussing these systemic issues. Thanks!
