Michael J. Walker, 57, was last seen on the evening of Sunday, November 5, 2023, leaving a friend’s home in Norland, Ontario, and was believed to be heading to his father’s residence about 15 minutes east of Kinmount. The next day his vehicle was found unlocked in the father’s driveway with the keys missing and Michael gone. Family reported him missing on January 7, 2024, after failing to contact him.

Described as a large man about 6 feet 3 inches and 325 pounds with short dark brown hair, blue eyes, a scar on his right cheek and several tattoos including a lion across his back and an image of Jesus on his left arm, Michael was believed to be wearing a dark blue hoodie and track pants when last seen. The Ontario Provincial Police conducted searches in the Norland and Minden areas and the investigation continued for more than two years.

On September 16, 2026, the OPP arrested Michael’s 81-year-old father, Bazil Walker of Peterborough, charging him with second-degree murder and indignity to a dead body; the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Crime Unit and the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch are involved. Did anyone in the Norland or Kinmount area see Michael on or after November 5, 2023, or notice anything unusual around the father’s property?
