I’ve been digging into the case of Gilles Valcourt and noticed something that might be worth discussing here. Has anyone looked into the specifics of the Canada Hotel in Waterloo around the time of his disappearance? I'm curious what kind of clientele this place typically attracted back in the 70s and if anyone remembers anything noteworthy about it. Sometimes the environment and the people who hung out there can provide context. A hotel like that might have had patrons from out of town, or maybe regulars who could potentially remember seeing Gilles or recall something odd that night. If anyone has connections to Waterloo or knows folks who were around then, it might be helpful to gather some local insights on what the hotel scene was like. Just thinking out loud here, but every little detail might help reignite this cold case.
