I can't stop thinking about how the community in Phippsburg has really come together in the wake of this terrible tragedy. It's gut-wrenching to hear about the loss of these two little girls and their father. I've read about candlelight vigils and balloon releases, but what struck me most was the plan for a permanent memorial in the local park. The idea of having a lasting place where family, friends, and even strangers who were touched by this story can come to remember Jessi and Summer is a beautiful gesture. I hope it provides some comfort to Tierny and everyone who loved them. It reminds me how resilient and compassionate communities can be in the face of unimaginable loss.
