Has anyone here given thought to whether Chester may have had a mental condition affecting his decision to leave camp on foot? Given his age at 66, it's possible he might have been experiencing early signs of dementia or another cognitive issue. The stress and upset he seemed to be experiencing could have exacerbated any confusion, making him more likely to wander off without a clear plan. It’s heartbreaking thinking about him venturing into the wilderness like that, potentially without realizing the consequences. I'm curious if there were any behaviors before this day that could suggest he was struggling with memory or cognition. Even in 1990, I'm sure the family or friends might have noticed some signs but perhaps did not think much of it at the time. Thoughts?
