I was recently reading into Desmond Joseph Runstedler's case, and I can't help but wonder about the delay in reporting his disappearance. It struck me how crucial those first hours and days can be in missing person investigations. Given that Desmond wasn't reported missing until 8 months after he was last seen, it makes you think about how much evidence could have been lost in that time. Did he have any close friends or family in Lougheed who might have noticed something was off? It seems unusual for someone to vanish and leave behind all their belongings without someone noticing for so long. Perhaps the transient nature of his work and the casual social circles he was part of contributed to the delay. Has anyone else come across cases where the reporting delay severely impacted the investigation? It's so puzzling.
