I've been thinking a lot about Lt. D.A. Cale and the officers who had to respond to the scene of Tanner James Talbott's murder. I can't even imagine the emotional toll it must take on first responders to arrive at such a devastating event. It's not just about the investigations and paperwork; it's about confronting the raw aftermath of violence. My heart goes out to them, too. They face these unimaginable scenes and then have to continue with their duties, carry those memories, and maintain professionalism. It's a hard job, and in small communities like Philippi, WV, it might be even more challenging because everyone feels connected. I hope they have the support they need to process what they've witnessed and can find a way to cope with such difficult experiences.
