Hi everyone, I've been digging through old records and came across the disappearance of Marianne Minor from 1984. Something that puzzles me about her case is the lack of media coverage back then and even now. I get that it's a small town, but still—how does a person vanish from a hospital without anyone noticing or reporting more extensively at the time? For those who don't know, Marianne was a patient at the St. Thomas Psychiatric Hospital. It baffles me that we have next to nothing on her disappearance, especially from the time it happened. You'd think something as serious as someone going missing from a psychiatric facility would attract enough attention to get some focused investigation going. Was it common for cases like this to go underreported in the '80s, or could there have been a reason people weren't more vocal about it? It's so unsettling to see a case with so little to go on for decades. Anyone have thoughts on why the press or public didn't latch onto this more back then? Hope some fresh eyes on the case can spark new discussions or memories that could lead somewhere.
