I can't stop thinking about the broader issue here. It’s just devastating to see how easily and quickly a teen like McGowan can get access to a firearm. We need to talk more about gun access among minors and what can be done to prevent situations like Cristian's tragic death. It’s unimaginable for any parent to lose a child this way. My heart goes out to C.J.'s family, who are now left to navigate life without their loved one because of a senseless act. The community needs more spaces for these conversations to prevent such a tragedy from happening again. What can we do collectively to make our communities safer?
I couldn't stop thinking about the role social media played in this tragic incident with Cristian "C.J." Upah. It's so unsettling how platforms like Snapchat can be used to orchestrate something so devastating. It makes me wonder about the safety measures or controls in place to prevent these sorts of interactions. I can’t imagine what Mia and C.J.’s family must be going through, knowing a meeting that started online ended in such a horrific way. This case has definitely made me more aware of the dangers teens face in the digital world. I hope C.J.'s loved ones find some peace and that the justice system handles this case appropriately. Sending so much love to them during this unimaginably difficult time.
