Every time I think about the tragedy at Union Labor Park, I can't help but feel deeply for Michael Carter Jr.'s family and friends. It's so distressing that an event celebrating positivity and mental health awareness turned into such a nightmare. I've been thinking a lot about the trauma witnesses must have experienced. Being in a place where everyone is enjoying the music and the vibe, only for it to be shattered by unexpected violence, must have been terrifying. If I or someone I knew were there, I’d be grateful for any support or resources available to help process this traumatic experience. I hope the organizers and local mental health services are reaching out to everyone affected. Sending strength and support to everyone involved, especially Michael’s loved ones. They deserve justice and some semblance of peace. Let’s keep talking about this to ensure the community and authorities have the information they need to find who is responsible.
