On December 9, 2006, Curtis Francis, aged 34, and his partner Jennifer Burgette were found murdered in their home on Hopper Road in Piketon, Ohio. The couple was shot while they were asleep in their bed. Their tragic deaths have become known as the "Hopper Road double murder." The Pike County Sheriff's Office initially led the investigation, following multiple leads, but the case remains unsolved to this day.
