I recently came across an interesting detail in the case of John Patrick McCormick and Eric Larsfolk that got me thinking. Apparently, there was an old gravel pit near where the boys' field car was found abandoned. It's always puzzled me that their car was left so close to such a distinct landmark. Does anyone else find it unusual that even with footprints leading away, no other significant evidence popped up around that pit? I know searches can be challenging, especially in dense areas, and they were likely thorough, but I can't help but wonder if something might have been missed in the initial chaos. Could the gravel pit have been an intended destination or just an unfortunate accident of geography? I’m curious if anyone has thoughts on how the pit might play into their disappearance or has come across other cases where similar locations have factored into unsolved disappearances.
