Teresa Maria Silva Desa was 16 when she was last seen at her family’s home in Toronto on the morning of December 14, 1973. She was reported missing at about 8:30 am that day. At the time she disappeared she was described as Caucasian, 4 feet 8 inches tall, about 99 pounds, wearing a light brown coat with white trim, red checkered pants, and black boots.

Investigators considered that she may have left with a man named Amavel Santos, a tenant in the family home, but that lead has not produced a resolution. The Toronto Police Service still keeps an open file on the case, which remains cold and unresolved.

Does anyone have memories of Teresa, her family, or the neighbourhood in Toronto in December 1973 that could shed light on what happened?
