I've been following the tragic case of Leroy Eugene “Lightning Leroy” Colomy and found myself thinking about the impact on the Tombstone community. It's clear that Leroy wasn't just a fixture at the Bird Cage Theater—he was a part of the town's fabric. Having worked with the Boothill Gunfighters and at the theater for nearly two decades, Leroy seemed to have left quite an impression on everyone who knew him. The fact that such violence unfolded in a place that thrives on its colorful history and tight-knit community makes it even more unsettling. Those who worked alongside him at the theater must feel his absence every day, and I can't imagine how difficult that must be. It sounds like Leroy was well-liked and respected, and losing someone like that is always a significant blow. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved him, particularly in such a small, close community where his presence was undoubtedly cherished. Let’s hope the town can find some peace after such a senseless act.
