I came across the Mark Lanza case, and I just can't shake this sense of what a tragic end it was all around. I want to focus on the fact that the complex where all this happened was described by neighbors as usually being pretty quiet. It must have been incredibly jarring for the residents there, not to mention terrifying, to suddenly find themselves in the middle of a shooting situation. I can't imagine coming home to police tape and knowing something so tragic happened just a few steps away from your doorstep. I'm sure that night continues to haunt many of them. It's a painful reminder of how one incident can ripple through a community and affect so many lives. Wishing peace for everyone involved.
