I've been diving into the case of Daniel Julius Christensen from 1982, and something that puzzles me is the role of the family dog in his disappearance. When the dog eventually returned to the cabin alone, it seemed like there was a chance it could lead the searchers back to Daniel or provide some clue to his whereabouts. I've read about dogs being able to find their way home from vast distances, so it makes me wonder if the dog tried to guide the way back or if it simply lost track of Daniel. Does anyone know if the RCMP or any experts in animal behavior were consulted to figure out if the dog might have left any trails or clues that could help in locating Daniel? It seems like such a vital aspect that could shed light on the situation, yet there seems to be little information about what efforts were made in this direction.
