I'm curious about the geographical challenges in William Caswell's case. Panache Lake is massive and surrounded by such rugged terrain. Considering the size and nature of the lake, along with the islands and extensive shoreline, it's unfortunately easy to see how someone could disappear without a trace. Search efforts must have been incredibly difficult, and it's no wonder that even with modern techniques, finding him would be like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Has anyone come across details about the initial search operations? Were there any particular spots on the lake where they focused their efforts, or did they utilize any underwater technology back then? I understand technology has evolved significantly since 1991, but I’m really interested in how large-scale searches were conducted in such areas at the time. If only there was more information available, perhaps we could better understand what the search teams were up against.
