I’ve been thinking a lot about the canine search from Bernice’s car to the river. I find it fascinating how dogs can pick up on scents, even when there’s no physical evidence nearby. It makes me wonder if Bernice had any history with that area or if she ever mentioned liking to go to Finlayson Island to anyone. Sometimes, older folks have a connection or fond memories of a place that they might gravitate toward, especially if they’re disoriented or confused. Has anyone come across any local anecdotes or memories that mention Bernice’s habits outside of her usual routine? It could provide some context, no matter how small, to figure out what might have drawn her to that specific location.
