I came across a detail that hasn't been discussed much in Haylee Parker's tragic case. It seems like the Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS) was swift in their investigation after that horrible day on December 23, 2015. They managed to reach a conclusion about the abuse by December 30, less than a week after it all happened. It makes me wonder how they were able to piece everything together so quickly, especially given that there were no prior reports or signs of abuse in the family prior to this terrible event. I know DCS and the Pima County Sheriff's Office did a joint investigation which likely sped things up, but it still feels impressive how fast they got answers. Unfortunately, it also makes me think about the times when issues slip through the cracks. It seems like there was just no clear sign that anything was wrong before that day. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this senseless tragedy, including the investigators who had to piece together such a sad and unexpected case.
