I recently read more about the case of Michael Agerter, and something that stood out to me was the impact this tragic event must have had on their young child. It's devastating to think about an innocent child losing both parents in such a horrific way—one to murder and the other to prison. Growing up without either parent can have profound emotional effects. Also, I wonder who took custody of their little one? Friends or family members who step up in these situations deserve so much recognition and support. They end up taking on so much emotional weight—not just for the child’s well-being but dealing with the complicated feelings that arise from such a tragedy. It's just such a sad situation all around, especially thinking about those early years that are supposed to be full of love and stability. My heart goes out to Michael's family and anyone who has been touched by this tragedy.
