I've been thinking a lot about the underlying circumstances of the officer-involved shooting that led to Frederick Wilburn's tragic death. It's so troubling to contemplate what might drive someone to react the way he did. My heart goes out to his family who must be grappling with so many "what if" questions and the deep loss of their loved one. There’s a lot of focus on the moments of the incident itself, but I can't help but wonder about the events leading up to that day. Did Frederick feel he had no other options? Was he running from something else? Understanding the context could potentially shed light on why things escalated so quickly. I hope his friends and family eventually find some kind of peace, and that all those affected by the trauma of this event get the support they need. What do you all think might have contributed to this? Have you come across any similar cases?
