I've been reading through the threads about Pamela Asprey's case, and something that really puzzles me is the timing of her disappearance. It was a mild Monday night on November 12, 1984, right? She was at Martin's Lounge on Water Street, which was a pretty popular spot back in the day, from what I gather. What stands out is the specific time she was last seen near the War Memorial on Duckworth Street around 9:30 p.m.
Given that she told her friends she'd be back in 20 minutes and knowing she left her wallet, what could've possibly happened in such a short span that made her change her course of action? Was there someone or something so compelling she would step into a stranger's car? Or maybe it wasn't a stranger at all? It's baffling because the streets would've still been active at that time, yet only a few people noticed anything.
I feel like this case leaves us with more questions than answers, but the details about that dark-colored car and the driver wearing a baseball hat keeps bothering me. Were there any other cases around St. John's during that period with similar descriptions? Feels like there might be a bigger picture we’re missing here. Would love to hear if anyone else has thoughts or theories.
