I've been thinking about the troubling detail about Diane's shoes. Her name was written in bold letters on the bottom, and they were found close to her body as if they were intentionally placed. It's such a haunting image and makes me wonder about the psychological profile of the person who did this. Why bother placing her shoes back near her? Was it some sort of taunt or just another piece of a sick game? It seems so purposeful, almost as if whoever did this wanted people to notice this detail. Could this have been some sort of calling card? I know others have been theorizing about the Freeway Phantom's link to these cases. If this is indeed the same person, they were very deliberate in how these crimes unfolded, right down to the smallest details like this. It's heartbreaking to think that such a young girl with dreams was subjected to something so sinister. I sincerely hope that more light is shed on these details with advancements in profiling or technology, and justice is finally served for Diane and the other victims. My thoughts are with her family and friends who have had to live with this all these years.
