Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about the mural on Roosevelt Row lately. It's such a beautiful and powerful tribute to David and Zach. For those who haven’t seen it, it features these stunning portraits of them, along with an excerpt from one of Zach’s poems. I feel like it captures their spirits so well.
I didn’t know them personally, but you could always feel their presence in the arts scene. My heart goes out to everyone who was close to them. It’s tough knowing we lost two talented souls who brought so much light and creativity to our community. The mural is such a moving reminder of how they touched so many lives here.
It’s also a stark reminder of how gun violence can rip apart our communities. I really hope anyone who might know more about what happened will find the courage to speak up. We owe it to David and Zach to seek justice.
Take care, all. ?
Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about that beautiful mural outside Carly's Bistro on Roosevelt Row. It's such a powerful tribute to David Bessent and Zachary Walter. Every time I pass by, it feels like a quiet place to remember them and the vibrancy they brought to our community. I find myself stopping for a moment, not just to appreciate the artwork but to reflect on their lives and what they meant to so many people.
Zachary's poem excerpt adds an incredibly personal touch, too. It feels like he's speaking directly to us, reminding us to cherish each moment despite the senseless violence that took them away. It's hard to accept that they were victims of such a brutal act, especially in a place that's supposed to be a haven for artists and dreamers.
Hearing how the community has come together for memorial events and to support their families really speaks to the impact they had in Phoenix. It's comforting to see the love and solidarity, even in such a tragic circumstance.
For those who knew them well, what's something you'd like others to know about David and Zachary? It would be great to hear more about their unique contributions and how they touched your lives.
Stay safe, everyone.
I've been following the case of David Bessent and Zachary Walter for a while now, and I can't stop thinking about the impact this tragedy has had on the Roosevelt Row community. I never got the chance to meet either of them, but seeing the mural outside Carly's Bistro, you can feel the love and respect everyone had for these two incredible artists. It's so touching to see how their creativity brought people together and left a lasting impression on the local arts scene.
It's both moving and chilling to think about how quickly they were taken from us by such senseless violence. Hearing about the arrests of those teenagers makes me hopeful justice will be served, but it also makes me wonder about the environment that led to such young lives being involved in something like this. It’s a reminder of the complex issues we face concerning youth crime and gun violence.
For anyone who was lucky enough to attend the Monday drawing nights David hosted at Jobot, I’d love to hear your experiences and how his spirit continues to influence art in Phoenix. Let's keep the conversation going, support each other, and ensure that David and Zachary’s influence is everlasting. Stay strong, everyone ❤️
