I've been thinking a lot about this situation and the fact that Treu was just 11 years old. It's so hard to wrap my head around a child that young involved in something so serious and tragic. From what neighbors and friends have mentioned about Treu, he seems to have just been a typical kid who liked riding his bicycle and playing outside. It really gets to me thinking about what could have pushed him to such a desperate act. Was there something that none of us saw coming? My heart goes out to Doyle and to Treu's parents. Losing a loved one is unimaginable, let alone two, in such a shocking way. If there are any signs that children are struggling with something beneath the surface, it's crucial that we catch those and do all we can to help. I hope this serves as a reminder to be vigilant and compassionate towards any kids in our lives who might be quietly hurting.
