I've been thinking a lot about the families involved in the Lakeside Park incident, especially Carlos Ross's family. He was so young, just 16, and the thought of losing a child in such a violent manner is something I can't even begin to imagine. It's incredible how a place meant for relaxation and community turned into a scene of violence. This devastating event raises so many questions about the pressures and situations these young people might face before resorting to such measures. I hope everyone touched by this finds strength and support in the community to heal and remember these lives lost too soon. It's heartbreaking to see how gun violence continues to shadow the lives of the youth.

I've been reading up on the Lakeside Park shooting and keep coming back to the involvement of the three teens who were charged. What stands out to me is how young these guys were—just 15 or 16 years old. It makes me wonder about their backgrounds and what might have led them down such a tragic path. I can’t help but think about the families of these boys, including the ones who survived. The way their lives have been forever changed by this event is unimaginable. Probation and prison sentences aside, they have to live with the weight of what happened that day. I hope they’re getting some sort of counseling or support to help them process everything. It's heartbreaking to know that instead of hanging out at the park like most teenagers might, they got caught up in something so deadly. It's a grim reminder that we need to do more to reach young people before things escalate to this level. I’d love to hear what others think can be done to prevent similar situations from happening again.
