I was thinking about the private funeral service Devin's family organized. It really says a lot about how deeply they cared for him and wanted to honor his life while keeping everyone safe during the pandemic. Given the restrictions of only 50 people, it must have been incredibly tough for them to decide who could attend. I can't imagine the pressure they felt having to make such choices amidst their grief. It's devastating enough to lose someone, but trying to navigate all the pandemic protocols must have added another layer of difficulty. Sending my thoughts to all those who wanted to be there but couldn't. I hope the online platforms provided some comfort in sharing memories and condolences. Remembering him through these acts of love seems like a beautiful way to keep his spirit alive. ?

I’ve been thinking a lot about the fact that Devin was a Staff Sergeant in the military. It’s incredibly sad that someone who dedicated such a big part of their life to serving and protecting the country would become a victim of gun violence at home. It really makes me wonder about the complexities of life after service. How are veterans supported when they return to civilian life? My heart goes out to his family and friends who are undoubtedly grappling with a myriad of emotions right now. To fight through the pandemic to hold a service just shows how loved and valued he was. I hope they find some comfort in the community’s outpouring of support and the memories people are sharing online. ?

Hey everyone, I've been reflecting on Devin Michael Anderson Sr.'s military service since learning about his tragic passing. It's clear he was dedicated and likely made significant sacrifices for his country. It's just so unfair that after serving his nation, he became a victim of gun violence. I've seen others mention the impact he made on his friends and family — he must have been a truly remarkable person. I've also noticed discussions about the limitations of the funeral service due to COVID-19. The pandemic has made it challenging for many to show up and support grieving families like Devin's. It's a reminder of how important it is to express our condolences in any way we can, even if it's just a few words shared online or a small gesture like planting a tree in his memory. Would love to hear if anyone here attended the service or knew Devin personally. How are his loved ones holding up? Sending thoughts and strength to all affected by this loss. ?
