I’ve been following Amber Joy Patton’s case, and I keep thinking about the bravery she showed during her time in the Army. It’s so upsetting that someone who served our country and faced the challenges of PTSD could become a victim in such a shocking way. I read somewhere that she had an incredible love for animals, and it warms my heart to know that she had something so positive in her life. Her murder being a part of a senseless crime spree makes it all the more difficult to comprehend. It’s heartbreaking to think her life was cut short by such random violence. The fact that these teenagers went on a rampage for two months unchecked is terrifying. I really hope the justice system holds them accountable and that Amber’s family finds some measure of peace knowing her story brought an end to their spree. Her legacy of kindness and courage deserves to be remembered.
