I’ve been following Ruben Sekiseka’s case and I keep thinking about the role of security personnel in places like nightclubs. Many people, myself included, go out expecting that security guards will ensure our safety, not endanger it. The fact that Serafin Chavez, a security guard, is accused of being involved in this tragic event is quite unnerving. This makes me question the kind of training and background checks that are implemented for those we trust to protect us. If there are any former security personnel on this forum, I'd be really interested to hear your thoughts on the training you received and whether there are any gaps that need addressing. My thoughts are also with Ruben's family and friends during this difficult time.
