A late-night shooting in Northwest Washington ended in homicide on December 4, 1999. At about 11:41 p.m. Patrick Michael Smith was shot and killed in the 1400 block of Harvard Street NW. The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch investigated the case but the killing remains unresolved.

No suspects have been publicly identified and no arrests have been reported. The motive and circumstances leading to the shooting remain unknown; police have offered a reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
