Has anyone else been thinking about the role of the homeowner in this tragic night? It’s clear he was defending his home during what sounds like a terrifying invasion, and it's hard to imagine what I’d do in a similar situation. But considering the outcome, I wonder if there’ll be more scrutiny on the laws surrounding home defense and the use of firearms in these situations. The whole incident is just so devastating, especially for Mia Padilla's loved ones. She was so young, and the loss is unimaginable. No matter the circumstances, a life was lost, and her family will be grappling with that forever. I hope they find some peace amidst this chaos.
