Phillip Zanders, 37, was shot and killed on the morning of August 4, 2001, in Washington, D.C. At about 9:00 a.m. he was found fatally shot inside his apartment in the 2800 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, SE; the shooting itself occurred in the 2600 block of the same avenue. The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch classified the death as a homicide and opened an investigation.

Officials have publicly appealed for help and offered a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
