On a summer morning in Washington, D.C., the life of Phillip Zanders, a 37-year-old male, was tragically cut short. On August 4, 2001, at approximately 9:00 a.m., Mr. Zanders was shot and killed in the 2600 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, SE. He was discovered fatally shot inside his apartment located in the 2800 block of the same avenue.
