Hey everyone, I've been following the situation at the Meadows mobile home park and my heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy. One thing that’s really been on my mind is the position of the police officers in these types of situations. It seems like they had a tough call to make when Robert Purdie came out armed. I can't imagine the pressure they must feel in those tense moments. It’s so unfortunate that it ended the way it did, but I'm sure the officers had to act on instinct to protect themselves and the bystanders. It made me think about the kind of training officers go through for de-escalation in such high-pressure environments. Does anyone have insights into what protocols are usually followed in these situations? I believe every effort should be made to peacefully resolve incidents and prioritize everyone's safety. Thinking of Roland's family and hoping they find some closure soon. Stay safe, everyone.
