Does anyone else find it sad how the murder of Jarvis Long has barely gotten the attention it deserves? I recently read that the Lincoln Police worked really hard on the case despite how difficult it was with Jarvis being transient. It's like once we label someone as homeless, they start to fade from public concern. Jarvis was a person with friends and family who cared about him, and for them, this is their worst nightmare. I don't know a lot about the second arrest that was made, but the fact that there's possibly more than one person involved makes it even more chilling. Peter Pan Park must feel so different now for people who used to go there. Anyone else in Lincoln feel like this should have been covered more widely? It's important to remember that every person matters, no matter their circumstances.

Hey everyone, I can't stop thinking about the case of Jarvis Long and how the community reacted back when it all happened. It's so scary to think that something like this could occur right in Peter Pan Park, a place public and many families visit. It hits home knowing that Jarvis was part of our city, even if he didn't have the stability of a permanent address. I’ve been following some discussions around how difficult it is for law enforcement to investigate crimes involving transients, and it makes me realize how vulnerable this group really is. Does anyone else think there's a lot to learn in this case about how we treat and understand the transient population? Maybe if there's more awareness, we could prevent future tragedies or at least help solve them more swiftly. My heart goes out to Jarvis’s family and friends; it's unimaginable having to go through something like this. Would love to hear any thoughts or discussions around this. Stay safe, everyone.
