Hey everyone, I've been digging into the Ogata-Staudinger case, and there's something that's been puzzling me. The search effort included helicopters and scent-discriminating canines, but from my understanding, these methods usually have some level of success, especially in dense areas like the spots around Pāhoa. I'm curious about the conditions that day—does anyone know what the weather was like or if there were any factors that might've affected the effectiveness of the searches? Maybe seasonal rains or winds could have interfered? I wonder if the search teams have considered if she might have moved beyond the initial search radius due to disorientation. It's all really perplexing. Any thoughts?
