There's something that's really been weighing on my mind about the Eric and Rachel Garten case—the discovery of 26 firearms and all that ammunition in their home. I can't help but wonder what role, if any, these weapons might have played in the tragic events that unfolded. Eric's background in the Air Force and his interest in high-speed activities might suggest he simply collected them as a hobby, but was there more to it? Did anyone ever find out why they had so many guns?
I've been thinking about how difficult this revelation must be for their family, especially for Anne, Eric's mother. It just raises so many questions about what might have been going on behind closed doors. My heart goes out to her and anyone else grappling with the mystery and sorrow of it all. Does anyone have any insights or theories on why they had such an extensive collection? How common is it for a couple like them to own that many firearms in Nebraska? Just trying to piece together some understanding here.
