I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact community can have during such terrible times. The candlelight vigil that was held for Darin L. Koepke and Sandra Nelson speaks volumes about how much they meant to those around them. I read somewhere that hundreds gathered to offer support to the families, and that just really touched me. It’s beautiful to see people come together to honor these individuals, even if it doesn’t take away the pain of their absence. Pictures of these vigils always remind me of how interconnected we all are, especially in small towns like Superior. Darin was clearly a man who left a mark, not just through his heroic actions during that fateful day but throughout his life in his work and community service. My thoughts are definitely with Kelli, Kayla, Krystina, and everyone who loved him. ?

I’ve been thinking a lot about the incredible bravery Darin Koepke showed during that tragic event at Agrex. It's just so moving to learn that his first instinct was to protect others – truly selfless. His actions, as described by the Nebraska State Patrol, were nothing short of heroic. It takes a lot of courage to act the way he did in such a terrifying situation. The creation of the Darin L. Koepke Agriculture Memorial Scholarship is such a beautiful tribute to him. It's heartwarming to see how his legacy will continue to impact future generations of students pursuing studies in agriculture. It feels like a fitting way to honor someone who was so dedicated to his field and community. My thoughts go out to his family, and I hope they find some comfort in knowing his memory is being preserved in such a meaningful way.
