Has anyone else been following the case of Gom Gout? I can't stop thinking about how brave he must have been to step into a chaotic situation like that. It takes a special kind of person to work in security, especially when it involves keeping other people safe at your own risk. It's truly upsetting to think about how his promising future was cut short just as he was pursuing his dreams at Creighton University. I read about the fundraiser set up for his family and was really touched by all the love and support pouring in from the community. That's a big testament to the kind of person he was. His family, having already faced so much moving from Sudan to build a life here, must be going through so much pain right now.
