It's deeply unsettling to think about how quickly things escalated that night and how this tragedy unfolded right outside poor Hayes' home. It's so haunting to imagine the fear and confusion, especially since Hayes was just trying to help someone in need. From what I've read, Hayes was such a stand-up guy with a big heart, fiercely protective of those he cared about. I wonder if there were any signs before Rex arrived that something was amiss, or if it truly came out of the blue. It's also concerning that Emily was already feeling unsafe with Rex – what can we do to better help people in these situations? This is such a devastating reminder of the very real dangers in abusive relationships. My heart goes out to both Hayes’ and Emily’s families as they navigate this unimaginable loss. ?

Has anyone else been thinking about the bravery Hayes showed in this tragic incident? From what I've gathered, it's clear that he was just trying to protect Emily by offering her a safe place at his mother’s home. It’s so deeply unsettling to think about the fear Emily must have been feeling to seek refuge so far from her home. Hayes seemed to genuinely care about Emily’s well-being, and stepping up like that takes an immense amount of courage. Other reports say he confronted Rex outside, trying to de-escalate the situation. It’s a true testament to his character, though it's devastating it had to end this way. My heart aches for his family and friends who are now left with such a huge void. I'm hoping the investigation sheds more light on how this all unfolded, even though it won't bring any of them back. Sending love to all those who knew Hayes and Emily.
